Dat-aMe is a continuation of the Dat-a project and is co-produced by Huis aan de Werf
for their annual theatre festival 'Festival aan de Werf'.
Dat-aMe consists of three separate locations, The
registerMe booths, the DataMe projection, and the Dat-
A Space. Dat-aMe starts at the RegisterMe booths.
In the registerMe booths people are asked to leave
behind some personal information. In the proces of
filling in their information a snapshot of the person in
taking using a webcam. The participant is unaware of
the picture been taken and. After the participant
submitted his/her personal information we give
him/her a Me device. This is a black box containing a
small radio-transceiver. During the participator
his/her visit he/she exchanges personal data unconsiously with other visitors through
this Me device.
In the main installation space we visualize the
network created by the Me devices. This network is
visualized on the pictureMe wall. The pictureMe
wall shows the earlier made photo’s of the visitors
in your digital network. On the pictureMe wall
there are small buttons next to the image of the
people the visitor met. By clicking this button it is
possible to brwose through this person it's digital
networks created during the evening. Every time a
new person appears on the pictureMe wall a
printer print a paper hard copy of this persons his
or her's data. This printout consists of the digital.
The dataMe projection can be seen in the foyer or any other central place. This projection “Googles” the names of the persons who are carrying a Me device. It show real google hits of this person mixed with information we gathered during the evening.
