SETUP Medialab

The z25.org Foundation is a strong proponent of a shared media lab. This shared workspace needs to be a sparkling breeding ground of creativity and exploration of new art, a venue and place of the exchange of knowlegde. By making new technologies available z25 wants to create optimal conditions in order to innovate the application of technology and our knowledge about it.

Z25 is one of the initiators of SETUP. By combining the strengths of several partners and collegeas z25 wanted to setup a shared facility. Utrecht misses a place for new-media art and culture. There is need and momentum to fill up this gap. A shared medialab is fits in the ambition of Utrecht to become cultural capital of Europe in 2018 and the celebration of the Treaty of Utrecht in 2013.

It's time for a place where the Utrecht New Media scene can present itself to a wider audience. A professional center where creators meet, share and inspire. SETUP is this place. SETUP focuses on innovation, internationalization and experimentation.
